The Mughal emperor Shah Jahan created the monument of love in the 17th century as a remembrance to his wife Mumtaz Mahal. This jewel in the Indian tourism crown is located on the Yamuna River's right bank.

Agra Fort

Visit Agra Fort, a spectacular example of red sandstone architecture built on the banks of the Yamuna River, straight after seeing the Taj Mahal. Akbar, the third Mughal emperor, completed Agra Fort between 1565 and 1573. It includes the beautiful Nagina Mosque, audience halls like the Diwan-i-Khas, and other imaginative palaces like Shah Jahan's Jahangir Palace and Khas Mahal.
