Day 1: Bangalore to Agra –Transfer to the Hotel and Sightseeing
Your adventure will commence with a flight from Bangalore to Delhi. The moment you arrive in Delhi, our executive and driver will meet you at the airport, and will leave for a 3-4 hours drive to Agra via road following the Yamuna Expressway. As soon as you get at Agra, check-in the hotel.
The first destination you will see will be the gorgeous Taj Mahal which is one of the emblems of love. Take the time to see the gorgeous white marble tomb and know its history and architecture as well the true life story of its constructor Emperor Shah Jahan and the wife of Mumtaz Mahal. Do not miss capturing the photographic images when the sun is setting over the monument, so coloring the monument a warm red.
Next is the Agra Fort, popular Mughal building after the Taj Mahal. This majestic red sandstone fort showcases the lifestyle of the Mughal emperors as it boasts of its halls, palaces and mosques. The fort features wonderful large courtyards and delicate sculptures and paintings; chosen spots in the fort offer aerial views of the Taj.
In the evening, take a tour of the markets of Agra and do some shopping for marble crafts, textiles and leather work. Take a little time to experience the traditional local Mughlai food where you may get Kebabs, Biryani and mouth watering pastries. After this wonderful dinner, head return to your hotel to have a pleasant sleep at night. Overnight stay in Agra.
Day 2: Agra to Bangalore (More Sightseeing + Departure)
After breakfast, start the second day at Itimad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb which is known as ‘Baby Taj'. This monument was erected even before Taj Mahal was built and contains exquisite carvings and inlaid work to portray early Mughal architecture.
If you can spare some time go to Mehtab Bagh which is a wonderful garden opposite to the Yamuna river and Taj Mahal which is marvelous from this side. After this visit check out from your accommodation around the late morning hours and take off for Delhi. On the way, acquire some more local pastries or have a couple light lunches. Reach the Delhi airport early in the morning so that you can catch your flight back to Bangalore that is in the evening. This overnight tour gives a wonderful insight on what Agra has to offer in terms of tours and sightseeing making it the best for the visitor who possibly has limited time but a lot of passion to discover one of India’s most iconic towns.
